Reflecting on 2012

Today I woke up in 2013 and realized just how busy, kookie, and rewarding 2012 was for me.  Let's have a quick recap, shall we?

Last year I rang in 2012 in Key West and then attended the Key West Literary Seminar.  I've posted about it many times.  And I'm happy to report that in twelve short days I'll be on my way back to Key West for another seminar!

When I got back from KW, I weathered the cold winter months in Philadelphia and managed to get out and explore the city quite often.

I even went all the way up to the top of Fairmount Park located north of Manayunk.  It's crazy this place still has a Philly zip code!

I also found my Pole people at a bar in Old City -- 50 cent pirogies, yes please!

Just before spring was about to show its colors I hopped on a plane with We Are Brainstorm Print & Design and visited my brother in Chile.  He's down there running this organization.

We Are Brainstorm had this fantastic video made about the screen printing classes they gave while in Valparaiso.

I also made a super amateur video of the trip.  No judgments, please.

When I got back from Chile it was back to work, finishing up the semester and also designing my independent study for the fall semester.

I finished the semester strong and hopped on another plane (with my Mama) and did a three week Europe trip where we went to Germany, Poland, and France.  More of that story is here, here, and here.

I also met this fantastic gentleman.  :)  One day I'll share our story in this space... just not yet.

Sometimes the admins make mistakes and use "professor" to refer to the adjuncts and then I get mail in my mailbox that looks like this.  (I have to admit, though, I like the look of that title... ahhh, professor, one day... maybe...)

Then I turned thirty.  Woah.

I finished the semester strong and especially thrived in my study of the San Francisco Renaissance poets.

After I finished the semester (teaching and studying), I left Philadelphia and moved to the country about 30 minutes from the city.  It suits me much better and a "new apartment tour" is on its way in the next week!  This is our view:

I'm super excited about 2013 and all the goodness it is going to bring (I just know it!).
